Trip Introduction

Everest Three Pass Trek/ High Pass Everest trek is one of the most physically straining, yet emotionally overpowering treks in Nepal, that tests both your patience and your limits and takes you to the heart of the Everest region of Nepal. The trek passes through the major three passes of the Everest region, namely the Kongma La Pass (5535m), Cho La Pass ( 5420m) and the Renjo La Pass( 5340m) before settings for on the base camp of the Everest.

Trekkers are introduced to the remoteness of the Nangpa Valley and the villages of Marlung and Thame on this wonderful trekking trail.   • Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel .

    Upon your arrival at Tribhuban International Airport our staff will welcome you and will transfer to hotel. In the afternoon we will invite you to our office for briefing about the each day program.

  • Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing and preparation for the trek.

    After having breakfast you will do some sightseeing which includes Pashupatinath Swoyambhunath and Boudhanath.

  • Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla [2850m] and trek to Phakding [2600m]

    Route: Lukla – Chheplung (2660 m) – Ghat (2592 m) – Phakding (2610 m)

    Duration: 30 minutes flight & trek 3-4 hrs

    Elevation Gain: 1210 m



    Early morning we take flight to Lukla which is gateway to Mt. Everest. 30 minutes long flight will be the thrilling and adventurous experience to start your trek to EBC. After reaching Lukla you will be introduced with porters and will head to Phakding via Chaurikharka and Chheplung.

  • Day 04: Trek from Phakding to Namche [3440m]

    Route: Phakding – Monjo(2835m) – Larja Dobhan (2830 m) – Namche Bazar

    Accommodation Type: Hotel / Lodge

    Duration: 6-7 hrs

    Elevation Gain: 830 m


    After having your breakfast at Phakding you will start your hike. On your way to Namche you will cross suspension bridges and hike up observing the beautiful view. Monjo is an entrance gate to Sagarmatha National Park where your permits will be checked. Monjo is a sherpa village which offers you a beautiful landscape view.

    The walk for this day concludes reaching Namche Bazaar.  Namche Bazar, one of the beautiful villages in the Khumbu region offers you the attractive Mountain View.

  • Day 05: Rest / acclimatization day in Namche Bazar [Hike to Khumjung village (3780 m)

    The must needed acclimatization day in Namche even if you feel healthy and fit. You can hike up to Everest view point or simply have a complete rest day at your lodge. Magnificent panoramic view of Mountains like Amadablam, Thamserku, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and others can be seen from Everest view point.

  • Day 06: Trek from Namche Bazar to Tengboche [3865m]

    Route: Namche (3440 m) – Kyangjuma (3550 m) – Phungi Thanga (3250 m) – Tengboche( 3860 m)

    Duration: 5-6 hours

    Elevation gain: 425 m


    You will start hiking after having breakfast. Walking through the dense rhododendron forest you will be both descending and ascending on your way to Tengboche.

    The trail follows beneath the splendid Mt. Everest, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse and many others. The destination for today ends reaching Tengboche. Tengboche can be less called Village as it is surrounded by the guest houses. Tengboche Monastery is one of the largest monasteries in Khumbu region and is a very important sacred place. Evening rituals are performed by the Monks in Tengboche Monastery. Everyone can take part in the prayer however you are not allowed to take photos and videos.

  • Day 07: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche [4410m]

    Route: Tengboche (3860 m) – Deboche (3820 m) – Pangboche (3930 m) – Shomare (4010 m) – Dingboche (4410 m)

    Duration: 6-7 hrs

    Elevation gain: 550 m

    Waking up with the beautiful sunrise view and having breakfast observing the stunning view from tengboche will increase your thirst to reach Everest Base camp even more. The trail for this day passes through coniferous forest to Deboche. Crossing the suspension bridge over the Imja Khola then climbing uphill till you reach the beautiful sherpa village, Pangboche where you will rest for your lunch. After that your journey continues to reach Dingboche. On your way you will be amazed as you will see the prayers flag dangled in the trails and colourful Mani stones imprinted with the buddhist mantras. On reaching Dingboche you will find it is bigger than Tengboche. Dingboche is a traditional sherpa village with a beautiful view from surrounding hills.

  • Day 08: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m)

    Route: Dingboche (4410 m) – Dusa (4503 m) – Thokla (4620 m) – Lobuche (4910 m)

    Duration: 5-6 hrs

    Elevation gain: 500 m


    Your hike starts after having breakfast in Dingboche. You will feel the changes in your trail as you will encounter the grassland mountain ecosystem. From the top of Thokla you will see breathtaking scenery. You will also see the Chortens (Memorial stone) and prayer flags made in the memory of the deceased climbers. Finally reaching Lobuje, your guide will brief for your next day trek to Everest base camp.

  • Day 09: Trek from Lobuche to Everest base camp (5364m) to Gorakshep(5140 m)

    Route: Lobuche – Gorak Shep (5140 m) – Everest Base Camp (5364 m) – Gorak Shep(5140m)

    Accomodation Type: Teahouse

    Duration: 8-9 hrs

    Elevation gain: 454 m


    Today it would be quite challenging as you will be starting your trek early in the morning. You will stop for lunch at the gorak shep.

    After gorak shep you will continue the trek to base camp where you will observe the elegant Khumbu glacier and Khumbu Icefall. The beautiful snowcapped mountain around the base camp is just jaw dropping. Spending some time at base camp then you will descend to gorak shep at your lodge.

  • Day 11: Morning hike from Gorakshep to Kala Pattar [5545m] and trek to Dzongla [4830m.] 6-7 hours.

    Route: Gorak Shep – Kala Patthar (5550 m) – Gorakh Shep – Lobuche (4910 m) – Dzonglha (4830 m)

    Accommodation type: Teahouse

    Duration: 6-7 hrs


    In the early morning you will hike up to Kala Patthar, the highest point of the trek to see the beautiful sunrise view. You will be amazed seeing the rays of sun touching the mountains of himalayas. The best panoramic view of the himalayas is observed from this view point. After filling your eyes, mind and heart with the splendid scenic view of himalaya you will descend back to Gorakh shep for your breakfast. After that we will continue our trek to Dzongla.


  • Day 12: Trek from Dzongla to Gokyo Lakes [4790m] via Cho La Pass (5420m).

    Route: Dzonglha – Cho La Pass (5420m) – Dragnag (4700 m) – Gokyo (4790 m)

    Accommodation type: Teahouse

    Duration: 6-7 hrs

    Elevation gain: 590 m


    Today will be another challenging day as we should ascend over the second pass, Cho La (5420m), in order to reach the magnificent Gokyo lakes. We make a cross to the Cho La pass (5420 m) on an iced route that has a hard ascent. We may occasionally need to utilize your crampons and other equipment to complete this ascent. Amazing views of Cho Oyu (8188m), Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8414m), Chola (6089m), and other peaks can be seen from the summit of the pass. Once we arrive at Cho La Phedi, we will carefully descend. Once at Dudh Pokhari (the third Gokyo Lake) the trail passes dry land before heading Ngozumpa Glacier. The gorgeous lake, where the summit of Cho Oyu (8188m) joyously reflects, would make the fatigue of the hard hike fade. Enjoy your stay at Gokyo.


  • Day 13: Rest day in Gokyo and hike up to Gokyo-Ri [5360m]


    Since today is rest day in Gokyo, we will climb up to Gokyo Ri (5360m), a tiny mountain, in the morning to take in the breathtaking views of the entire Gokyo valley, with its numerous little lakes, as well as the views of stunning mountain peaks. If you’d like, we may also climb up to Thonak Tsho (the fourth lake) situated at an elevation of 4870 meters, where we can take in the serene beauty of the lake before returning to the third lake.

  • Day 14: Trek from Gokyo to Renjo-La Pass [5360m] and then to Lunden [4380 m]

    Route: Gokyo (4790 m) – Renjo-La Pass (5360m) – Lungdhen (4380 m)

    Duration: 6-7 hrs

    Elevation gain: 570 m


    The third and final three high passes of  Khumbu, Renjo La pass (5360m), is what we face first thing in the morning . We cross Renjo La pass gradually on a snow-covered route, where we will be rewarded with breathtaking views of Cho Oyu (8188M), Everest (8848M), and the Rolwaling Himal range. In order to get to little lakes like Angladumba Tsho, Relama Tsho, and Renjo Lake, we then descend on the iced path. We will arrive at Lungdhen after we continue to descend.

  • Day 15: Trek from Lungden to Namche [3440m]

    Route: Lungdhen (4380 m) – Samde (3610 m) – Namche (3440 m)

    Accommodation type: Lodge

    Duration: 6-7 hrs


    We will start our trek to Namche after breakfast. We will be doing nice walk today on an easier trail so we can enjoy the beautiful scenery on our way. From a distance, we’ll be able to see Everest and other mountains. We will arrive in Namche Bazaar while taking in the breathtaking views of nature.

  • Day 16: Trek from Namche to Lukla

    Route: Namche Bazar – Larja Dobhan (2830 m) – Monjo (2835 m) – Phakding (2610 m) – Chhuthawa (2591 m) – Ghat (2592 m) – Chheplung (2660 m) – Lukla ( 2840 m)

    Accommodation Type: Hotel / Lodge

    Duration: 6-7 hrs


    This day might be a little long so it’s better to start your trek a little early. Walking down to Lukla you will remember your first day of the trek and find how much you have accomplished. Not only reached the base of the world’s highest mountain but also you returned safely. Though you will be walking the same path but you find the difference the way you feel. You will start memorising the whole trek on your way back as today it is the last walk of the trek. As to cherish your success you can sing, dance and have fun time with the guides and porters at Lukla in the evening.

  • Day 17: Fly back from Lukla to Kathmandu

    Finally, the last day of the trek, your final breakfast of the trek at Khumbu region. Catching the early flight you will return to Kathmandu, capital city of Nepal. During your flight now you will be able to recognise the peaks of the Himalayas. Upon your arrival at Kathmandu our guides will transfer you to a hotel from the domestic airport.

  • Day 18: Final departure to your next destination.

    You will be dropped-off at the airport 3 hours prior to the scheduled flight time.
