Trip Introduction

Highest Mountain in the world stands 8848.86m high offering a breathtaking view of its landscape. The dream of every adventure lover seeks the physical challenge along with jaw dropping natural settings. This trek fulfills both the thirst of adventure lovers. The total distance coverage is approximately 130 km with highest elevation of 5,550 m at Kala Patthar  whereas  lowest elevation at Lukla with 2860m of the trek.

Trek starts from Lukla, gateway to Everest where you can reach by direct flight from Kathmandu, Capital city of Nepal. The journey leads to entering the Sagarmatha National park, UNESCO World Heritage Site. The unique up and down hill trail encounters you with the pine forest, rhododendron forest and grassland ecosystem of mountains.

The splendid view of Everest can be witnessed from Kalapatthar on your way.Beside spectacular scenery of Mountains like Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku you will also be amazed by the Sherpa culture and Tradition. In addition, monasteries at Thengboche, Dingboche will leave your mind in peace as the vibes you get are positive and relaxing. Hundred years of history lies in the valley where sherpa resides following the typical buddhism. The best season to do this trek is during Autumn (September, October and November) and Spring (March, April and May) season. The temperature during autumn season varies from 8 to 22 degree celsius whereas  -15 to 17 degree celsius during spring season.

Everest base camp trek is not everyone’s cup of tea however if you are determined ,physically and mentally fit you can conquer this trek with proper guidance by our experienced license holder guides. Our guides are trained with first aid, mapping, equipment arrangements and many more. To get a lifetime of adventure experience one must do this trek once in their life.

  • Day 1: Kathmandu - Lukla (2840m) - Phakding (2610 m) (Flight from KTM to Lukla - 30 minutes and hike to Phakding) - 3 hrs

    Route: Lukla – Chheplung (2660 m) – Ghat (2592 m) – Phakding (2610 m)

    Accomodation Type: Hotel / Lodge

    Walking distance: ~8KM

    Early morning we take flight to Lukla which is gateway to Mt. Everest. 30 minutes long flight will be the thrilling and adventurous experience to start your trek to EBC. After reaching Lukla you will be introduced with porters and will head to Phakding.

  • Day 2: Phakding - Namche Bazar (3440 m) (6 hrs)

    Route: Phakding – Monjo(2835m) – Larja Dobhan (2830 m) – Namche Bazar

    Accomodation Type: Hotel / Lodge

    Walking distance: 10-12 KM

    After having your breakfast at Phakding you will start your hike. On your way to Namche you will cross suspension bridges and hike up observing the beautiful view. Monjo is an entrance gate to Sagarmatha National Park where your permits will be checked. Monjo is a sherpa village which offers you a beautiful landscape view.

    The walk for this day concludes reaching Namche Bazaar.  Namche Bazar, one of the beautiful villages in the Khumbu region offers you the attractive Mountain View.

     

  • Day 3: Acclimatization day in Namche Bazar

    The must needed acclimatization day in Namche even if you feel healthy and fit. You can hike up to Everest view point or simply have a complete rest day at your lodge. Magnificent panoramic view of Mountains like Amadablam, Thamserku, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and others can be seen from Everest view point.

  • Day 4: Namche Bazar - Phortse (3810 m) (5-6 hrs)

    Route: Namche (3440 m) – Kyangjuma (3550 m) – Phortse

    Accomodation Type: Hotel / Lodge

    Walking distance: 6-8 km

    You will start trek after having breakfast. Walking through the dense rhododendron forest you will be both descending and ascending on your way to Phortse.

    The trail follows beneath the splendid Mt. Everest, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse and many others. The destination for today ends reaching Phortse.

  • Day 5: Phortse - Dingboche (4410 m) (5-6 hrs)

    Route: Phortse – Pangboche (3930 m) – Shomare (4010 m) – Dingboche (4410 m)

    Waking up with the beautiful sunrise view and having breakfast observing the stunning view from Phortse will increase your thirst to reach Everest Base camp even more. Crossing the suspension bridge over the Imja Khola then climbing uphill till you reach the beautiful sherpa village, Pangboche where you will rest for your lunch. After that your journey continues to reach Dingboche. On your way you will be amazed as you will see the prayers flag dangled in the trails and colourful Mani stones imprinted with the buddhist mantras.  Dingboche is a traditional sherpa village with a beautiful view from surrounding hills.

  • Day 6: Acclimatization day in Dingboche

    As you are now at 4410 m altitude your body needs to adopt the environment to move further in higher elevation in order to prevent from Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). On this day you hike up to Nagarjun hill where you witness the breathing view of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Lobuche, and Taboche. Beside Mountains you can observe the scenic view of the entire Imja Khola Valley. If you don’t want to hike then you can simply roam around the Guesthouses, Bakery and cafe of Dingboche.

  • Day 7: Dingboche - Lobuche (4910 m) (5 -6 hrs)

    Route: Dingboche (4410 m) – Dusa (4503 m) – Thokla (4620 m) – Lobuche (4910 m)

    Walking distance: 11 -12 Km

    Your hike starts after having breakfast in Dingboche. You will feel the changes in your trail as you will encounter the grassland mountain ecosystem. From the top of Thokla you will see breathtaking scenery. You will also see the Chortens (Memorial stone) and prayer flags made in the memory of the deceased climbers. Finally reaching Lobuje, your guide will brief for your next day trek to Everest base camp.

  • Day 8: Lobuche - Everest Base Camp (5364 m) - Gorak shep (8-9 hrs)

    Route: Lobuche – Gorak Shep (5140 m) – Everest Base Camp (5364 m) – Gorak Shep(5140m)

    Walking distance: 14 -15 Km

    The most awaited day of the whole trek.You will have more motivation on this day as you will be reaching the base of the world’s highest mountain. Today it would be quite challenging as you will be starting your trek early in the morning. You will stop for lunch at the gorak shep.

    After gorak shep you will continue the trek to base camp where you will observe the elegant Khumbu glacier and Khumbu Icefall. Finally a great achievement of trek will conquer reaching the Everest Base camp. In addition, the beautiful snowcapped mountain around the base camp is just jaw dropping. Spending some time at base camp then you will descend to gorak shep at your lodge.

  • Day 9: Gorak Shep (5140 m) - Pheriche (3930 m) (6-7 hrs)

    Route: Gorak Shep – Kala Patthar (5550 m) – Gorakh Shep – Lobuche (4910 m) – Thokla (4620 m) – Pheriche (4240 m)

    Accomodation Type: Hotel / Lodge

    Walking distance: 12-14 Km

    Reaching the Everest base camp is not the end of the trek. In the early morning you will hike up to Kala Patthar, the highest point of the trek to see the beautiful sunrise view. You will be amazed seeing the rays of sun touching the mountains of himalayas. The best panoramic view of the himalayas is observed from this view point. After filling your eyes, mind and heart with the splendid scenic view of himalaya you will descend back to Gorakh shep for your breakfast.

    The most notable ascent for the day is Pheriche Pass. Great views of rivers and Mountains can be seen on your way to Pheriche.

  • Day 10: Pheriche - Tengboche (3860 m)(3-4 hrs)

    Route: Pheriche – Pangboche (3930 m) – Deboche (3820 m) – Tengboche (3860 m)

    Walking distance: 10-12 Km

    The route to Tengboche is  easy with beautiful views on its way.Tengboche can be less called Village as it is surrounded by the guest houses. Tengboche Monastery is one of the largest monasteries in Khumbu region and is a very important sacred place. Evening rituals are performed by the Monks in Tengboche Monastery. Everyone can take part in the prayer however you are not allowed to take photos and videos.

  • Day 11: Tengboche - Namche Bazar (3440 m) (3-4 hrs)

    Route: Tengboche – Phungi Thanga (3250 m) – Kyangjuma (3550 m) – Namche Bazar (3440 m)

    Walking distance: 8-10 Km

    You can enjoy beautiful sunrise view from tengboche along with having your breakfast at side. After having breakfast and packing our bags we will descend down to Namche Bazar. Namche Bazar is one of the beautiful village in Khumbu region.

  • Day 12: Namche Bazar - Lukla (2840 m) (6-7 hrs)

    Route: Namche Bazar – Larja Dobhan (2830 m) – Monjo (2835 m) – Phakding (2610 m) – Chhuthawa (2591 m) – Ghat (2592 m) – Chheplung (2660 m) – Lukla ( 2840 m)

    Walking distance: 19-20 Km

    This day might be a little long so it’s better to start your trek a little early. Walking down to Lukla you will remember your first day of the trek and find how much you have accomplished. Not only reached the base of the world’s highest mountain but also you returned safely. Though you will be walking the same path but you find the difference the way you feel. You will start memorising the whole trek on your way back as today it is the last walk of the trek. As to cherish your success you can sing, dance and have fun time with the guides and porters at Lukla in the evening.

  • Day 13: Lukla - Kathmandu

    Finally, the last day of the trek, your final breakfast of the trek at Khumbu region. Catching the early flight you will return to Kathmandu, capital city of Nepal. During your flight now you will be able to recognise the peaks of the Himalayas. Upon your arrival at Kathmandu our guides will transfer you to a hotel from the domestic airport.

Not Included in the Cost

  1. Nepal entry visa fee (you may easily issue the visa upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport – Kathmandu). You will require 2 passport size photos.
  2. Your Travel insurance (compulsory).
  3. Food (lunch and dinner) while you are in Kathmandu.
  4. Your personal expenses and entrance fees while you do the tour in Kathmandu.
  5. All the alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.
  6. Sweet things like chocolate bars and hot shower during the trek.
  7. International airfare and airport departure tax.
  8. Tips for the guide and staffs.
