Thorang Peak – 6144 m
Thorong Peak (6144 m) lies in Annapurna region that does not require prior mountaineering experience however, you must be emotionally and physically prepared for this exciting journey. Thorong Peak is situated to the south of Thorong La Pass (5146m).
Your trek starts at Bhulbhule (840m), then gradually climbs through a number of villages until you reach Thorong La Pass and Thorong Peak. You will visit Muktinath Temple which is one of the popular pilgrimage place for both Buddhists and Hindus of Mustang district. It is also one of the highest temples in the world and is renowned for its 108 water taps that are shaped like bulls. Before ending in Pokhara, the trail passes the Kali Gandaki River Valley, Jomsom (2743 meters), Marpha (1630 meters), Tukuche, and Tatopani (Tatopani means “hot water” in Nepali). Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu (1300m) and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Trek Preparation and sightseeing around Kathmandu
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Bulbule (850m) – 7/8 hrs – Overnight at Lodge.
Day 04: Trek Bhulbule to Jagat (1330m) – 7/8 hrs – Overnight at Lodge.
Day 05: Trek Jagat to Dharapani (2160m) – 6/7 hrs – Overnight at Lodge.
Day 06: Trek Dharapani to Chame (2670m) – 5/6 hrs – Overnight at Lodge.
Day 07: Trek Chame to Pisang (3200m) – 6/7 hrs – Overnight at Lodge.
Day 08: Trek Pisang to Manang (3540m) – 5/6 hrs – Overnight at Lodge.
Day 09: Acclimatization day at Manang village (3540m) – Overnight at Lodge.
Day 10: Manang to Yak Kharka (4110) – 5/6 hrs – Overnight at Lodge.
Day 11: Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4925m) – 5/6 hrs – Overnight at Lodge
Day 12: Thorong Phedi to Thorong Peak Base Camp (5200m) – 3/4 hrs - Camping
Day 13: Summit to Thorong peak (6144m) and trek down to Muktinath (3810m) – 9/10 hrs – Overnight at Lodge
Day 14: Reserve day for climbing (if weather condition is not favorable)
Day 15: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2500m) – 5/6 hrs – Overnight at Lodge.
Day 16: Flight from Jomsom to Pokhara (820m) - 20 min and transfer to hotel
Day 17: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist (7 hours) or you can take a flight (25 minutes) - Farewell dinner with culture program in the Evening.
Day 18: Final departure to your onward destination
