Trip Introduction

The myth of the legendary snow creature Yeti is said to have made its home in Rolwaling valley. This, however, is not the only myth that surrounds this unique trek. Rolwaling, also known by “the grave” by the Sherpas justifies its name as this trek is hailed as one of the most peculiar and difficult in the entire Everest region. The difficulty rating for this trek is rather high and the trekkers are expected to be fit physically as well mentally. There are many who have failed to complete this trek.

The trek starts from Dolakha after 8 hours ride from Kathmandu and after that, the trekkers are expected to walk for around 5-7 hours per day. From Dolakha, the journey continues to Suri Dobhan to Simigaun leading to Beding. The travelers have to cross Lapcha Base Camp (5010m), before ultimately reaching the highest point in the Rolwaling Trek- Tashi Lapcha Pass (5755m).

Acclimatization is a must due to the high altitude and sometimes the altitude gets even the best. The ascension is difficult that most as there are various ice-giants in the Khumbu region hindering the path of the trekkers. However, all is not cons in this journey. The view of the exquisite Mount Gaurishanker (7145m), Melungtse (7181m), Mt. Langtang and Mt. Everest along with the beautiful waterfalls, glaciers will ask the trekkers wanting for more. The entire treks take up to 15-20 days depending on the physical fitness of the travelers and the days needed for acclimatization. We, here, on Bomjan Treks and Expedition will make sure every trekker will see the end of the journey.
