The sight of the majestic Mount Everest along with several other mountains in the eastern Himalayas reflects the sunlight making the sight one of the greatest that you will witness, ever.


This journey is one of the most epic ones you will go on. Going pass the Everest Base camp, this Lobuche Peak Climbing takes the climbers to Kala Patthar- the best place to watch the one and only Mount Everest in the entire world. This alone makes this trip worthwhile. The beautiful Sherpa villages and the serenity of the alpine forests are really a sight to behold.


There is two peaks in this journey. The Lobuche East hails at 6119m and is comparatively more challenging than Lobuche West (6145m). Lobuche east is a trekking peak whereas the latter is an expedition trek. The steep climb and the vertical slope makes this journey challenging but conquering this makes this even more satisfying. Although there are many instances when beginners have successfully completed this trek, strong physical health and stamina are advised to take best out of this journey. Climbers have to make the best out of the trekking rope, ice axe, as well as abseiling and slippery rocks, can cause some deterrent to ascend. The expedition starts after the flight to Lukla. The trekkers then trek all the way to Phakding and to Namche. The entire climb can be finished in around 3 weeks including the days needed for acclimatization. The trekkers are expected to walk for around 6-7 hours per day. To reach the destination, Everest Base Camp (5364m) and KalaPathhar (5550m) serves as one of the major highlights of the journey which makes the entire Lobuche peak climbing even more satisfying. The ecstasy of watching the beautiful snow-capped mountains, deep glaciers and the rock giants makes this one of the journeys to be remembered for a lifetime.

  • Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

    Upon your arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), our staff will welcome you and transfer to hotel. You will have dinner with our guides where you will introduce with each other and talk about the trip.

  • Day 02: Full day of sightseeing of Kathmandu valley.

    On second day after having your breakfast our guide will brief you about the Island peak climbing and the gears you need. In case if you miss out some gear you can buy or rent it. If you want then you can visit around the world heritage sites ( Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bouddhanath, Pashupatinath, Swoyambhunath) but you have to pay entry fees on your own.

  • Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2800 m) and Trek to Phakding (2652 m)

    Duration: 30 minutes flight & trek 3-4 hrs


    Taking early morning flight to Lukla you will begin your Island peak climbing journey. After reaching Lukla you will start your trek to Phakding. You will walk through the stone-paved way where you will find chorten on your way. Phakding is a beautiful village which consists of many hotel and shops.

  • Day 04: Trek from Phakding (2652 m) to Namche Bazaar (3440 m)

    Duration: 5-6 hrs


    After having breakfast you will start your trek walking through the bank of Dudhkhosi. On walking uphill and downhill you will reach Monjo. Monjo is an entrance gate to Sagarmatha National Park where your permits will be checked.Monjo is a sherpa village which offers you a beautiful landscape view. On your way to Namche you will cross suspension bridges and hike up observing the beautiful view. The walk for this day concludes reaching Namche Bazaar.  Namche Bazar, one of the beautiful villages in the Khumbu region offers you the attractive Mountain View.

  • Day 05: Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization.

    The must needed acclimatization day in Namche even if you feel healthy and fit. You can hike up to Everest view point or simply have a complete rest day at your lodge. Magnificent panoramic view of Mountains like Amadablam, Thamserku, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and others can be seen from Everest view point.

    Acclimatization is done so that your body can adapt to new environment. Also it helps you to prevent from altitude sickness.

  • Day 06: Trek from Namche Bazaar (3440 m) to Tengboche (3870 m)

    Duration: 5-6 hrs


    You will start hiking after having breakfast. Walking through the dense rhododendron forest you will be both descending and ascending on your way to Tengboche.

    The trail follows beneath the splendid Mt. Everest, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse and many others. The destination for today ends reaching Tengboche. Tengboche can be less called Village as it is surrounded by the guest houses. Tengboche Monastery is one of the largest monasteries in Khumbu region and is a very important sacred place. Evening rituals are performed by the Monks in Tengboche Monastery. Everyone can take part in the prayer however you are not allowed to take photos and videos.

  • Day 07: Trek from Tengboche (3870 m) to Dingboche (4360 m)

    Duration: 5-6 hrs


    Waking up with the beautiful sunrise view and having breakfast observing the stunning view from tengboche will boost your cimbing spirit even more. The trail for this day passes through coniferous forest to Deboche. Crossing the suspension bridge over the Imja Khola then climbing uphill till you reach the beautiful sherpa village, Pangboche where you will rest for your lunch. After that your journey continues to reach Dingboche. On your way you will be amazed as you will see the prayers flag dangled in the trails and colourful Mani stones imprinted with the buddhist mantras. On reaching Dingboche you will find it is bigger than Tengboche. Dingboche is a traditional sherpa village with a beautiful view from surrounding hills.

  • Day 08: Rest day at Dingboche(4360 m) for acclimatization.

    As you are now at 4410 m altitude your body needs to adopt the environment to move further in higher elevation in order to prevent from ALtitude Mountain Sickness (AMS). On this day you hike up to Nagarjun hill where you witness the breathing view of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Lobuche, and Taboche. Beside Mountains you can observe the scenic view of the entire Imja Khola Valley. If you don’t want to hike then you can simply roam around the Guesthouses, Bakery and cafe of Dingboche.

  • Day 09: Trek from Dingboche(4360 m) to Lobuche (4928 m)

    Duration: 5-6 hrs


    Your hike starts after having breakfast in Dingboche. You will feel the changes in your trail as you will encounter the grassland mountain ecosystem. From the top of Thokla you will see breathtaking scenery. You will also see the Chortens (Memorial stone) and prayer flags made in the memory of the deceased climbers. Finally reaching Lobuje, your guide will brief for your next day trek to Everest base camp.

  • Day 10: Lobuche (4928 m) to Gorak Shep (5160 m) and to visit Everest Base camp(5320 m) and return to Gorekshep.

    Duration: 6-7 hrs


    After having breakfast you will trek ahead to reach Gorakshep. On reaching Gorak shep you will have lunch and will continue the trek to base camp where you will observe the elegant Khumbu glacier and Khumbu Icefall. Spending some time at Everest base camp you will descend to gorak shep at your lodge.

  • Day 11: Gorak Shep(5160 m) to Kala Patthar (5550 m) and back to Lobuche (4928 m)

    Duration: 7-8 hrs


    In the early morning you will hike up to Kala Patthar, to see the beautiful sunrise view. You will be amazed seeing the rays of sun touching the mountains of himalayas. The best panoramic view of the himalayas is observed from this view point. After filling your eyes, mind and heart with the splendid scenic view of himalaya you will descend back to Gorakh shep for your breakfast. Then we will head back to Lobuche.

  • Day 12: Trek form Lobuche(4928 m) to High Camp (5400 m)

    Duration: 4-5 hrs


    After breakfast, we will depart from Lobuche early in the morning to begin our trip to Lobuche Peak High Camp. The paths passes through rocky, difficult terrain, and they will put you to the extreme test. So, on our walk today, we will use ropes and crampons. Then, after crossing the renowned Lobuche glacier, we are treated by stunning views of the Mt.  Kantega, Cholatse, Thamserku, and Ama Dablam. You should obtain enough of rest and rehydrate yourself because the trail can get quite strenuous.
    Our Sherpa staff will set the camp once we reach a campsite at 5400 meters. Before you climb to the top of Lobuche Peak, they will also inspect your climbing equipment and health status.

  • Day 13: Lobuche High Camp (5400 m) to Summit (6119 m) and back to High Camp.

    Duration: 9-10 hrs


    Today is the day we attempt to reach the top of Lobuche East peak. We begin the ascent at around 2 in the morning in order to reach the summit by noon. The climb is difficult in the afternoon due to the high winds. For the first 5600 meters, the path is difficult. We use ropes and crampons to cross the ice-covered terrain.

    Additionally, you will be mesmerized by the panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Pumori, Cholatse, and other mountains from the summit. After spending some time together and getting some amazing photos, we return to high camp.

  • Day 14: Reserve day.
  • Day 15: Trek Lobuche High Camp to Pangboche (3930 m)

    Duration: 8-9 hrs


    From Lobuche high Camp, we will begin our journey back to Pangboche. We walk down the path that leads to Everest Base Camp. After lunch at Lobuche, we go via the village of Pheriche before arriving at Pangboche.

  • Day 16: Trek from Pangboche (3930 m) to Namche Bazaar (3440 m)

    Duration: 5-6 hrs


    The route to Namche Bazaar via Phortse is more challenging than the one through Tengboche. If you don’t want to put an extra effort then you can follow the trail through Tengboche however you won’t be regretting choosing the path through Phortse as you will be rewarded with the stunning view on your way. You will walk through the side of the river. You will first be descending until you cross the river then you will start to ascend till you reach Namche Bazaar, one of the beautiful villages in Khumbu region.

  • Day 17: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla.

    Duration: 6-7 hrs


    This day might be a little long so it’s better to start your trek a little early. Walking down to Lukla you will remember your first day of the trek and find how much you have accomplished. Not only successfully summitted Island peak but also you returned safely. Though you will be walking the same path but you find the difference in the way you feel. You will start memorizing the whole trek on your way back as today it is the last walk of the trek. As to cherish your success you can sing, dance and have fun time with the guides and porters at Lukla in the evening.

  • Day 18: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu and trasnfer to hotel.

    Finally, the last day of the trek, your final breakfast of the trek at Khumbu region. Catching the early flight you will return to Kathmandu, capital city of Nepal. Upon your arrival at Kathmandu our guides will transfer you to a hotel from the domestic airport.

  • Day 19: Leisure day in Kathmandu.

    You can roam around thamel area and buy yourself souvenir as a memory of your Nepal trip.

  • Day 20: Transfer to international airport for your final flight departure.

    Our guide will drop you at the airport according to your departure time. See you next time.

  1. Nepal entry visa fee (you may easily issue the visa upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport – Kathmandu). You will require 2 passport size photos.
