Best Trekking Season

Choice of season for your trekking journey plays a vital role in determining how memorable and awesome your trek might be. Some people ruin their journey due to the bad choice of season while some get a chance to endeavour the beauty of Himalayas, lush hills, valleys, rivers and other landscape at its fullest. The Nepal trekking season is classified as follows:

 

AUTUMN (Sept – Nov):

This makes an ideal time to trek or climb at higher altitudes. Autumn is considered the best time for trekking in Nepal, which offers excellent weather and exciting mountain views. Temperatures are moderate, making it a good time for a trek in any region.

 

WINTER (Dec – Feb):

December to February is the coldest time of the year in Nepal. If you think cold weather is not a big deal, then this season is also a good season for trekking. However, trekking to high altitude is not recommended as everything is covered with snow and the temperature is very low. But as the weather is dry.

 

Spring (March – May):

Different varieties of wild flowers, specially the rhododendrons make the hillside a haunting paradise during this spring season. Imagine yourself walking through a dense rhododendron forest with the colourful rhododendron flowers decorating the trees! Yes, it can be true if you opt to travel to Nepal from March to May.

 

Summer (Jun-Aug):

These times are blessed for the keen botanist as the higher valleys and meadows blossom with flowers and lush vegetation. Trekking in the rain-shadow  areas north of the Himalaya like Upper Mustang and Dolpo could be an ideal trek selection.
